Boerne welcomes world dance!

Boerne Performing Arts continues their sixth season of presenting professional performing arts with another big event in our small town. The Russian Seasons Dance Company whirls into Boerne with their two-hour non-stop action-packed evening described as a dance extravaganza. The artists will be kicking off their 2017 tour in Boerne, with one evening performance, one FOR KIDS student show, and a master class for high school dance students.

Boerne Performing Arts continues to add one more country to its repertoire. After the exhilarating performance of the New York cast of Vocalosity, the stage will be re-set to feature the Russian Seasons Dance Company with their “Celebration of World Dance” show. The company’s first trip to the United States was 25 years ago, and they are returning in 2017 with this stunning, spectacular, stirring and superbly creative show that has gained world acclaim. Boerne Performing Arts is thrilled to be presenting a quintessential dance company that prides itself with part of the national heritage of their country.
Choreographed by Nikolai Androsov, the company will journey through folk dances of Russia, Argentina, Ireland, Japan, and numerous other countries before their final selection…a tribute to America’s Broadway. Show time is 7:30pm on Monday, February 27, at Boerne Champion Auditorium.
Corporate sponsors for the appearance of the Russian Seasons Dance Company include the Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation, The City of Boerne, Frost Bank, Hearts’ Home Acoustics and Lone Star Properties – Carol Schultz. The Boerne Champion Show Choir will perform Preludes & Interludes in the lobby, while visual arts students from BISD middle schools will have select artwork on display in the Galleries. One lucky ticketholder will even win “Dinner for Two” at Little Gretel Restaurant…a local restaurant that supports the arts by always being open for dinner on the nights of the Boerne Performing Arts performances.
Boerne Performing Arts FOR KIDS will make it possible for 1,000 local students to attend an in-school show by the Russian Seasons Dance Company on Tuesday afternoon, the day after the evening public show. Additionally, high school dance students will attend a master class presented by the company’s Artistic Director and some of the Russian dancers. The corporate sponsors and donors provide all the funding for the student outreach programs so that the children can attend at no cost to the students.
Tickets are available online at www.BoernePerformingArts.com. Pricing ranges from $30-$40-$60 with $20 tickets available for students. The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce also provides assistance with ticket purchases, or you can call the Boerne Performing Arts Message Line at 830-331-9079 and a volunteer will return your call.
