Discover the Magic of Reading

By Dianna Landes BCC Contributor

Come out and view our new Kindness Garden created by the kids of the library Summer Reading Program. We have kindness rocks painted by local kind children for you to take for inspiration. Share one with a friend who needs one or bring one painted by you to leave in our garden to share kindness, support and inspiration with others in our community.
The Lakehills Library Board is seeking local crafters and sellers to be a part of our Christmas Market Day on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 am to 5 pm. Booths start at $10.  Please contact Dianna Landes at 830-510-2777 if you are interested.
Night time book club will meet on Monday Aug 7 at 6 pm to discuss the Jodi Picoult book, Plain Truth. Please join us for discussion and refreshments. Book clubs are an excellent way to expand your reading tastes and make new friends!
Genealogy Club will be starting back up soon! We have free access for searching Ancestry.com here at the library, supported by the Lakehills Genealogy Club. They meet here once a month to work on the library computers and search together and share information. The library can also connect you with a genealogy tutor if you need help getting started. This is a free service provided by volunteers of the library. Call Dianna at 830-510-2777 or email lakehillslibrary@gmail.com for more information.
Crochet Classes continue to be on Monday's at 11 am. If you are interested in learning to crochet but need to have class on a different day or time, please email Dianna at lakehillslibrary@gmail.com or call 830-510-2777 and we can make arrangements.
Friday watercolor classes continue to be every Friday afternoon from 3-5 pm. Beginners are welcome and all you need to begin is a few supplies. Come by on a Friday during class to speak to Mr. Black, the instructor, and he will let you know what supplies you need.
As always, all programs, groups and classes at the library are free and open to the public.
