Baubles & Beads tables and tickets selling fast

Contributed

Only a handful of tables and tickets are left for the Executive Women’s Club’s (EWC) breast-cancer awareness and fundraising event, Baubles and Beads. Bob Phillips, the Texas Hill Country Reporter, will be the keynote speaker for the Oct. 24 event at the YO Hotel and Conference Center. The program will include a luncheon, silent auction, raffle, door prizes, vendors and a style show featuring the Kerrville Fire Department as models.
There will also be a special tribute to cancer survivors. The EWC has raised more than $400,000 for its Breast Cancer Assistance Fund, which is used to provide financial help for area women with breast cancer. The Executive Women’s Club has also made significant donations to the remodel of Peterson’s Outpatient Imaging Center.
Regional and local businesses have donated more than $15,000 worth of items for the raffle, including a trip to Las Vegas and a private timeshare with airline mileage; a weekend stay at a beach vacation home; a Walther CCP 9mm gun; furniture from Outdoor Patio Furniture; a major radio advertising package from Revolution Broadcasting worth $1,800; a beautiful ring from local jeweler Jim Morris; a $500 gift card from H-E-B; a 60-inch TV from Moore’s Home Furnishing; beautiful turned wood items from artist David Blankenship; and more. Raffle tickets are on sale at several locations now through October, or through any EWC member.
“We are touched by the businesses, artists, EWC members who reach out to us, without asking, to donate items to this important cause,” chairwoman Lisa Winters said. “We are always surprised by the generosity, but it really shouldn’t surprise us. This community is that caring and kind.”
