3rd Annual Cork ‘n Fork: A Taste of the Hill Country

Enjoy the tastes of the Texas Hill Country on Friday, Nov. 11, 2017, at the 3rd Annual Cork ‘n Fork to benefit the Arthur Nagel Clinic. Sample the best of the Hill Country restaurants at the Farm Country Club in Bandera, 347 Pue Road, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person, with veterans admitted for $40 each. Music provided by the legendary Tony Booth and his band. The evening will also feature a special salute to veterans attending the event, a raffle, live auction, and silent auction. And fun!
Participating restaurants and their delights include:
• Ally’s Juice and Smoothie Bar, Bandera, pours cold-pressed juices and smoothies.
• Backyard Bistro, Pipe Creek, dishes up Tomato Basil Soup.
• Bandera Meat Market, Bandera, dishes up sliders, with thin-sliced meat.
• Brick’s River Café, Bandera, serves Devil’s on Horseback (bacon-wrapped shrimp stuff with jalapenos and cheese).
• Cathy’s Fine Chocolate, Lakehills, presents Belgian Chocolates and Truffles.
• Country Sweets Bakery, Bandera, presents their Dessert Cups as well as their Shrimp/Avocado Salsa.
• Cowboy Capital Pizza, Bandera, brings samples of their Cowboy Pizzas.
• Fat Boyz Sandwich Shop, Bandera, home of the 1st Friday Car Show, serves samples of sandwiches and burgers.
• Joaquin’s Panaderia, Boerne, offers pulled-pork and chicken salad, as well as a selection of choras including Gingerbread Pigs and Bandeuvo (egg bread).
• Love Creek Orchards Apple Store Bakery, Medina, brings mini-strudels, jams, jellies, and the Adams Family Treat Bread.
• Love Creek Orchards Patio Café, Medina, samples signature Pimento Cheese and Chicken Salad.
• Samantha’s of Bandera offers you Bacon-Wrapped Scallops in House Barbecue Sauce, Chef Patrick Mim’s signature dish.
• Sue’s Tamales, Bandera, offers enchiladas and burritos.
• TJ’s at the Old Forge, Bandera, presents Apple Salsa Bruschetta on Crostini and Pecan-Crusted Chicken with cream.
• Twig’s Grille, Bandera, brings a taste of their famous Chicken-Fried Steak.
• Twisted Sisters Bake Shop, Fredericksburg, includes a variety of flavors and designs of cakes and sweet treats.
• Arthur Nagel Community Clinic Teaching Kitchen, Bandera, serves vegetarian chile, recipe by Dr. Ruth Grubesic.
Attending veterans have an opportunity to win an American flag flown over the U.S. capitol. Auction items include Southwest Airlines tickets, two vacation locations, James Avery sterling silver jewelry, Sea World tickets, a grill designed to please a barbecue gourmet, and much more. Tickets are available at the door, at the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic, or Bandera Signs and Advertising.
The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic provides free healthcare to Bandera County residents who do not have health insurance and meet certain income qualifications.
