Discover the Magic of Reading

Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., is Children’s Story Time! Stories, songs, crafts and games are designed to help your child be reading-ready when they start school.
Every Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., Water Color Painting Class. The class is free, but you will need to bring your own supplies. Please meet with the teacher any Friday to get a list of needed supplies.
Wednesday, Nov. 8 from10 a.m.-noon, The Genealogy Club meets. Local genealogists are available to help you discover your family tree and enjoy fellowship with other genealogists. The library provides computers and Ancestry.com.
Wednesday Nov. 8 at 3 p.m., The Lakehills Library Board meeting will meet and is open to the public.
Nov. 9 and 16, The second and third Thursday of every month 5:30-7pm: The Lakehills Library Yarn Club will be meeting to crochet, knit, tat or do other yarn arts. They usually meet on the second and fourth Thursday, but because of the Thanksgiving holiday, they will meet on the second and third Thursdays in November. Bring the yarn and tools of your choice to practice your skills or learn new ones. A skilled crochet instructor will be available, or you can work with the group to learn knitting, tatting or any other yarn art.
Saturday Nov. 4, 2017 noon-1 p.m.: Investment of your money can be the best way to plan for your future, but many people don't know how to invest. Boost your investment IQ in only three sessions, starting with this discussion on why you should invest your money. Please join Jeff Laursen, an investment officer from Wells Fargo Bank, for this free financial seminar. The following two sessions will be scheduled at a later date.
Monday, Nov. 6, 6pm the Evening Book Club will meet to discuss “The Nest,” by Cynthia D'aprix.
Thursday, Nov. 23- Sunday, Nov. 26- The library will be closed. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sign up now!: The Lakehills Library Board is seeking local crafters, artists, and entrepreneurs to be a part of our Holiday Market Day. Booths start at $10. If you are interested in renting booth space, please call the library at 830-510-2777.
As always, all programs, groups and classes at the library are free and open to the public.
