Cliff Cavin is featured artist at MOWA


The Museum of Western Art will feature the work of artist Cliff Cavin during the month of November. Cavin will speak at a wine and cheese reception at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, at the museum. The event is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $10. Museum members attend at no charge.
Cavin, a native of San Antonio, is a landscape artist who has been painting with oils and watercolors for more than 35 years. His focus is on the views of the American West, especially Texas and New Mexico. He has participated in shows such as the C.M. Russell Invitational Sale and Benefit, the Give the GicvAmerican Plains Artist Museum Show, and the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition. He has also had exhibitions at the Southwest School of Art and at the San Antonio Art League. This is the 12th year that Cavin has been invited to participate in the annual Briscoe Western Art Museum Night of Artists Sale and Exhibition. His paintings have won numerous awards and are collected both nationally and internationally in private and corporate collections, including Valero Oil, M.D. Anderson Hospital, Jefferson State Bank, Baylor Scott & White Health and Cibolo Creek Ranch.
The Museum of Western Art is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, at 1550 Bandera Highway, in Kerrville. Guided tours are available. For more information, please call 830-896-2553.
