Discover the Magic of Reading

Through Dec. 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Art in the Library
The Art in the Library program will feature the work of two artists during the month of November, until Dec. 2. Kelly McCay “upcycles” other people’s used items and creates beautiful and useful gifts. Her pieces are available for purchase, just in time for Christmas. A percentage of the proceeds benefit the library.
Graphic designer Ryan Raschbaum designed the logo for the 2017 State Fair of Texas. The library is pleased to display the winning artwork. Rauschbaum is donating the proceeds from signed posters to the Hurricane Harvey relief effort.
Saturday, Dec. 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Holiday Market & Book Sale
The library will host a very special holiday market with more than 20 booths of art, crafts and unique gift ideas from local artists and crafts persons. This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase gifts for the holiday season while supporting area artists, and you will definitely find things to give as gifts that people don't already have! Breakfast tacos, homemade chili, Frito pie and chilidogs will be available, as well as home baked goods to eat there or to take home and serve to guests during the holiday season.
Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck and be at the library from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. to meet with the children and participate in a community art project. We hope you come out and enjoy this community event!

Wednesday, Dec. 13 from10 a.m.-noon, The Genealogy Club meets. Local genealogists are available to help you discover your family tree and enjoy fellowship with other genealogists. The library provides computers and
Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., is Children’s Story Time! Stories, songs, crafts and games are designed to help your child be reading-ready when they start school.
Every Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., Water Color Painting Class. The class is free, but you will need to bring your own supplies. Please meet with the teacher any Friday to get a list of needed supplies.
As always, all programs, groups and classes at the library are free and open to the public.
