Discover the Magic of Reading

By Dianna Landes BCC Contributor

The Daytime Book Club will not meet in December, but will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 9, to discuss December's book selection, “Lolita,” by Vladimir Nabokov.
Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 10 a.m.-noon, The Genealogy Club meets. Local genealogists are available to help you discover your family tree and enjoy fellowship with other genealogists. The library provides computers and Ancestry.com.
Wednesday, Dec.13, 3 p.m., Lakehills Library Board Meeting. Open to the public.
Saturday, Jan. 20, program for drivers. In the New Year, we will offer many new classes for the public. Texas DPS is going to be here on Saturday, Jan. 20, for a presentation about distracted driving. This would be an excellent program for teens to attend with their parents. Save a life and pay attention when you are behind the wheel.
We will also have CPR classes, scam awareness and Social Security Classes coming in the new year. January will also see the Yarn Arts Club resume its meetings. This is a great place to learn and share knitting, tatting, crochet and other yarn arts skills. The library will also be adding an adult crafting class once a month, more information to come on these classes and more.
Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., is Children’s Story Time! Stories, songs, crafts and games are designed to help your child be reading-ready when they start school.
Every Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., Water Color Painting Class. The class is free, but you will need to bring your own supplies. Please meet with the teacher any Friday to get a list of needed supplies.
As always, all programs, groups and classes at the library are free and open to the public.
