A Thought for the Week
by John M Grimes
Are you a generous person? Are you generous of your time and efforts because you truly want to help others? A generous person has learned that it is more blessed to give than to receive, and knows that making contributions has its own rewards. A generous person is motivated to earn the gratitude of his fellow human beings, while the ungenerous man is motivated to gain revenge from past affronts and hurts. . . Being generous in the sense of giving is mature behavior; being selfish and grasping is immature behavior.
Do you believe that giving your time and substance has its own rewards? Do you feel inclined to help others not hurt or hinder them? Are you willing to share your triumphs and victories with others? Do you give freely of your love, affection, enthusiasm and trust, or do you hold these qualities tightly within you until they wither?
Isn't it true that all of us can afford to be more generous with our enthusiasms for that which is worthwhile in people and in situations?
All thoughts of all readers are always welcome. It gives encouragement for other thoughts you read here..........................
