Drowning at Medina Lake

Contributed

Texas Parks and Wildlife responded to a call from the Bandera County Sheriff Department shortly after 3 pm, Tuesday, to search for a 22-year-old male from San Antonio who jumped from a dock in Plum Cove at Medina Lake and never resurfaced. Officials searched for the man with side-scan sonar, and then resorted to dragging the area where the large group of family and friends were swimming. The body was recovered at 4:50 pm, according to Parks and Wildlife official Aubry Buzek.
Chief Deputy Matt King said that there were many calls about fireworks late into the night, but no other tragic events were reported during the national holiday.
