Sidney P. Skinner III
Sidney Prentice Skinner, 66, peacefully passed away on April 1. He was born October 24 ,1950 to Sid and Bonnie Skinner.
He had an unending love for his wife of 47 years, Kathy and his children. Sid loved the sea and golfing. He had a massive stroke in January 2010, which incapacitated him. He always wanted to return to work with Southern States Offshore, and often spoke of needing to go to Houston to have his physical done.
He taught his children about the constellations, barbecues, the importance of respect, to always stand up for yourself, and for those who couldn't or wouldn't stand up for themselves. His love knew no bounds and many would attest to what a difference he made in their lives. His children have special memories with their cousins, Seana, Melissa, Tamme', Robert and Michael spending time with 'Uncle Sid", horseback riding, barbecues, swimming, looking at stars and camping in the back yard. His final resting place will be at the foot of his daughter's grave, per his request.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Skinner; his mother, Bonnie Skinner; his siblings, Bonnie Cheryl Crow, Robert Skinner and Geraldine (Deanie) Smith; his children, Adele Terry Robinson, Kathleen Rene' Garza and Sidney Prentice Skinner IV; his grandchildren, Amber Mills, Katie Butler, Kenneth Robinson, Miranda Brucker, Ashton Hall, John Hall III, Desiree' Robinson, Alex Hall, Thomas Read, Angelina Read, Destiny Read and one on the way "Baby Skinner"; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Adele Terry Skinner; his grandson, James Dean Robinson Jr.; his daughter, Teresa Ann Skinner and his father, Sidney Prentice Skinner.
The family would like to give specific thanks to a few individuals by name who treated him as a person and not a patient; Irene, Karen, Tycee and Bette with Riverhills Health and Rehab, Kerrville and Ronda with Peterson Hospice for taking the time to make sure his wife, Kathy was also cared for during his time with Hospice and Cassie with Hospice for taking the time to explain the changes that were happening as the end neared.
