LadyBulldogs host volleyball camp

By Sandy Jennings BCC Staff Writer

After celebrating a successful season that found the LadyBulldogs in the deep rounds of the State Playoffs, Bandera Volleyball is kicking off their 2017 season with camp starting on July 24 through July 26, at Bulldog Gymnasium.
LadyBulldog Volleyball Camp is scheduled from 8:00am until 11 am daily and is open to all athletes that are entering the third through the nineth grades.
Head Volleyball Coach Dee Heiner will be joined by Assistant Coach Brooke Ashcraft, along with other outstanding coaches and former players to conduct this year’s camp.
“Campers will participate in organized drills, games and other activities that will develop their individual volleyball skills, their knowledge of the game and how to incorporate these skills into team play,” Heiner said. “We will emphasize setting, passing, footwork, serving, attacking, blocking and understanding volleyball team concepts in the daily sessions in an informative and fun environment.” All campers will receive a camp t-shirt and will wear it the last day of camp for a camp photo. Individual recognition will be presented daily and at the end of the camp.
The cost is $30 for preregistration and $35 after July 1. Forms can be downloaded from the BISd website and Coach Heiner can be contacted at 210-422-4721 or campers are asked to wear shorts, t-shirts and athletic shoes. All campers can enjoy a free breakfast served at 7:30 am and lunch served at 11:30 am in the High School cafeteria.
Varsity, JV and Freshmen LadyBulldog Volleyball will travel to Kerrville on Aug. 5, to take on the LadyAntlers in scrimmage play. After taking on Medina Valley and Southside in more scrimmage play on Aug. 8, the LadyBulldogs will head to the beach Aug. 10-12, for the annual Corpus Christi Spikefest.
