JV Bulldogs play hard, stingy defense

By Jeff Quillin Bandera ISD

Wednesday night, Oct. 11, here in Bandera our JV Bulldogs took on the Texans from Wimberley in what was a great 28-AAAA contest. The game was a tight one for all four quarters. Neither the Bulldogs nor the Texans were able to move the football very much or score any points in the first quarter.
Midway through the 2nd quarter, Wimberley found the end zone to cap a 37-yard drive. After the score, neither team was able to move the football until Solomon McNeil (10) intercepted a pass deep in Wimberley territory. With less than five seconds to go in the first half, McNeil hooked up with Noah Adams (13) for a 32-yard completion, but was drug down on the 3-yard line to end the half. The Texans went into halftime with an 8-0 lead.
The second half was much of the same —hard tough yards for the offenses, and stingy defensive play by both squads. Early in the 4th quarter, Bandera was able to recover a muffed punt that gave us late life. But in the end, we fell just short and lost a hard fought ballgame 8-0.
Our boys played really hard and gave us everything they had for four quarters. We are very proud of their efforts, as we feel each one of them continues to improve.
Our Junior Varsity will be on the road next week as we travel to Hondo for another district ballgame.
