Four of the five 13-4A-DII teams are headed to the post-season tournament led by the District Champion Wimberley Texans who finished the regular season with a 9-1 overall mark that included a perfect 4-0 in district play. Navarro (9-1, 3-1) finished second in the district, Llano (5-5, 2-2) took third and the Hondo Owls took the fourth district playoff berth with a 2-8, 1-3 season record. This weeks’ bi-district playoff matchups include a Thursday, Nov. 16, meeting between Navarro and Devine to be played at Harlandale Stadium in San Antonio. Navarro wasted little time in taking control of the game at Bandera with a 48-point outburst in the first half. Bulldog senior fullback Wyatt Blair scored Banderas’ lone first half touchdown on a 51-yard run late in the second quarter. Blaise Salazar kicked the extra point to bring the halftime score to 48-7. In the second half, the teams exchanged possessions until Blair scored his second TD of the night on a short run followed by a Salazar PAT to make it 48-14 Panthers. The Panthers added a field goal in the fourth quarter to bring the final score to Navarro 51, Bandera 14.
