Bulldogs Basketball off to a good start

The varsity basketball team played their first game at home on Nov. 28. The team had a good night as they went on to beat Llano 71-48. The Bulldogs took an early lead and never looked back. This was a total team victory as every player contributed in the win.
Ben Shackelford played a great game as he scored 19 points, had 13 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block.
Jerry Alcorta had 12 points, Brandon Chamberlain had 8, Alex Cardenas had 7, Justin Raitz and Josh Ripple had 6, Jason Mayhew had 5, Colby Brown had 4, and Zane Neff and Wade Brosz added 2 points each. The home crowd was great as they provided an exciting atmosphere to play in.
The varsity boys' basketball team had a great day at the Pearsall tournament on Thursday, Nov. 30. The Bulldogs went 2-0 improving their overall record to 5-1 on the season.
Bandera started off playing Zapata. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead but Zapata came back and made close. The Bulldogs came away with a 62-53 victory. Scoring for the Bulldogs were Ben Shackelford with 14, Justin Raitz with 11, Colby Brown with 10, Alex Cardenas with 8, Brandon Chamberlain with 6, Jerry Alcorta with 5, and Jason Mayhew and Josh Ripple with 4.
Finishing off the day the Bulldogs played the host team Pearsall in what was an exciting game. Bandera led the whole game, but Pearsall would make runs and make it close several times. Bandera held their lead, winning 56-44. Scorers for this game included Cardenas with 13, Shackelford and Raitz with 11, Chamberlain with 10, Mayhew with 6, Alcorta with 3, and Brown with 2.
JV Basketball team
The Bandera Bulldogs Boys JV Basketball team battled for their first win of the season. The boys fought hard all game long to secure the home opener victory with a score of 42- 40. The boys were led by Travis Adam's 13 points, Andy Garcia's 12 points, and Dalton Cox's 10 points. All the boys contributed to the win and will be preparing for the Comfort Boys Tournament. Go Dawgs!
Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 the Freshman Bulldogs hosted the Yellow Jackets from Llano. The Bulldogs started strong and lead at halftime 27-19. However, Llano’s second half defense proved to be too much for the bulldogs. The Dogs fell to the Yellow Jackets 51-56. The Bulldogs were led by scoring efforts of 16 by Trace Decker, 8 by Gunnar Winkler, 6 by Lucas Jackson, 5 by Ethan Langton and Tanner Kapels, 3 by Jrey Johnson, Brekkan Jackson and Kenny Trevino and 2 by Ethan Molnar. The Bulldogs will play in the Comfort Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
